Spanish Police Bust International Marriage Fraud Ring, Arrest 30 in Valencia

A criminal network specializing in the organization of white marriages has been dismantled by the Spanish police. 30 people belonging to this network, including Moroccans, were arrested in Valencia, in eastern Spain.
According to the Spanish news agency EFE, this network is responsible for regularizing Moroccan immigrants by arranging their marriages with Spanish women for sums ranging from 8,000 to 12,000 euros.
This network, dismantled in Spain, has other ramifications in Belgium, France and Italy. These countries have therefore decided to coordinate, with Europol, the European Union’s criminal police agency, in order to facilitate the exchange of information between national police forces, and to put an end to this criminal network.
