Spanish Police Bust Cocaine Lab Supplying Morocco Amid Drug Shortage

In Spain, four people were arrested following the dismantling of a cocaine manufacturing network specialized in the manufacture, production and trafficking of hard drugs partly destined for Morocco.
The dismantling of this network based in the San Martin de la Vega region is the result of an investigation launched in January following the discovery of the existence of a criminal network specialized in the manufacture of this drug prepared in clandestine laboratories, reports Assabah. Faced with a severe shortage of cocaine due to the closing of borders because of Covid-19 and the dismantling of several drug trafficking networks in Spain and Morocco, these clandestine laboratories are calling on the expertise of Latin Americans for the mixing of chemicals with the drug.
The investigation proved fruitful. The Spanish police managed to identify the members of one of these networks and to arrest two women and two men, all four of Colombian origin. During a search, the investigators seized 28 kg of cocaine in paste form, more than 5,000 liters of chemicals used to prepare certain types of drugs, as well as explosives, and a quantity of 650 kg of cocaine cut to be sent to Morocco. This cocaine is served at private parties and events.
