Spanish Police Arrest Moroccan Man Accused of Being Los Zetas Cartel’s European Representative

The Spanish police arrested on Monday in Madrid a Moroccan accused of being the "representative in Europe" of the Mexican drug trafficking network Los Zetas.
The Moroccan, 54 years old and a member of Los Zetas, a gang affiliated with the Gulf Cartel, the oldest in Mexico, was arrested as part of a joint operation with the Colombian national police and the U.S. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) office, a Spanish police spokesman said.
The suspect provided drugs to "people he trusted throughout Spanish territory and in Europe, more specifically in the Netherlands." In total, five people were arrested and "400 kilograms of cocaine, 220,000 euros in cash, two vehicles, 10 phones and documents of interest" were seized, the police said in a statement.
