Spanish Police Arrest Moroccan Drug Trafficking Suspect Wanted by France

Pursued in several drug trafficking cases by the French authorities, a Moroccan has just been arrested by the Spanish police in Tarifa, in the south of the country.
Aged 38 and legally residing in Spain, the man was the subject of a European arrest warrant issued by France for "drug trafficking offenses and participation in an international organization," reports the Europa Press agency.
According to the same source, the suspect was planning to leave Spain and return to Morocco. The latter, who was on board his vehicle, was checked at the port of Tarifa before being taken into custody as part of the arrest warrant against him.
In a statement, the Spanish National Police specifies that he faces a sentence of up to 10 years in prison. He was part of a criminal organization, dedicated to the transport of hashish between Morocco and Europe, mainly with France, Spain, Belgium and Italy. This drug was transported via passenger buses.
