Spanish Navy Resupplies Disputed Territories Off Moroccan Coast

The Spanish Navy ship Mar Caribe has started on Monday its first logistical support mission (materials and supplies of all kinds) of the year to the defense forces stationed on the Vélez de la Gomera and Al Hoceima rocks, and on the Chafarinas Islands, claimed by Morocco.
The ship left the Puntales naval base (Cádiz) on Monday to bring food, drinking water, fuel and various materials to the permanent army detachments on the Vélez de la Gomera and Al Hoceima rocks and on the Chafarinas Islands. This resupply mission to these bases located off the coast of Morocco will last three weeks. The ship will be back on April 3, reports Info Defensa.

A CH-47 Chinook helicopter from the Army Air Mobility Forces will be responsible for unloading the materials and supplies from the ship to these different bases. The mission will also allow the resupply of the naval detachment on the Alboran Island, and could make a stopover in Ceuta to "refuel and rest the crew if conditions allow", the Navy said.
The ship has a crew of 29 agents (5 officers, 4 non-commissioned officers and 19 sailors and soldiers) under the command of Lieutenant Commander Javier María Aparicio Fraga.
