Spanish Military Conducts Border Exercises in Melilla Near Morocco

The Ramix 32/GT, an anti-aircraft artillery unit belonging to the Melilla General Command, is carrying out deterrence and surveillance missions on the border with Morocco.
These maneuvers follow those recently carried out by the II/32 Anti-Aircraft Artillery Group, at the Rostrogordo firing range, with C-101 aircraft from the Air Force. The Ramix 32 artillerymen conducted exercises in Melilla, on the occasion of the 2024 edition of the Armed Forces Day, reports El Debate, specifying that these maneuvers aim to control and defend sensitive areas.
Last April, the Spanish Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, visited the army units in Melilla, including the General Command and the "Alfonso XIII" base. On this occasion, Robles held several meetings with the some 3,200 soldiers making up these units, thanking them for their efforts and commitment to ensuring the security and protection of territories of national interest such as Ceuta and Melilla, the Chafarinas Islands and the Velez de la Gomera rock. Territories that Morocco has constantly claimed.
