Spanish Marathon Star Fatima Ouhaddou Secures Spot in Paris 2024 Olympics

Fatima Ouhaddou finished fourth and second best European performance in the prestigious Rotterdam marathon last weekend. With this result, the Moroccan-born athlete based in Aguilar de la Frontera (Córdoba) will be able to participate in the World Cup in Budapest this summer and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games for Spain.
Fatima joined the Amo Allá club in Aguilar in 2015 and began training under the orders of Ibrahim Boualla, who has become her husband and the father of her 4-year-old daughter. After a few years as a popular runner and children’s coach in the club, she decided to turn professional during the pandemic. Thus, she was Andalusian vice-champion in the 5,000 meters, Andalusian champion in the 10,000 meters and finished second in the Spanish road half marathon held last year in Paterna (Valencia), recalls ABC.
The Moroccan-born athlete aims to participate in the next Paris 2024 Olympic Games. "It’s a dream, I’ll leave something important to my family and the children I train," says Fatima, aware of the difficulties and sacrifices to be made to take on this challenge. But she has the full support of Ibrahim. "If you want to take the step, I’m with you," her husband and coach assured her.
To achieve this goal, Fatima will have to train with a team based in the Balearic Islands and under the guidance of a coach like Johny Ouriaghli. The athlete also has the support of her family who accompany her during her long training periods outside of Aguilar de la Frontera to take care of her young daughter.
