Spanish Interior Minister Hails ’Excellent’ Relations with Morocco

The Spanish Interior Minister, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, spoke on Friday about the quality of relations between his country and Morocco, stating that the kingdom is a "loyal and cooperative" partner.
In a statement following the UN General Assembly meeting in New York, Grande-Marlaska took the opportunity to welcome the current cooperation between Morocco and Spain. "Morocco is a ’loyal’ and ’fraternal’ partner with whom Spain has ’excellent’ relations," he affirmed.
The minister stressed that the relations between Spain and Morocco are "so satisfactory" and the mutual trust "so important", highlighting the Joint Declaration of April 7 announcing a "new stage in the bilateral partnership." "There is no need to worry, because the relations between the two countries are exceptional and excellent," he argued.
The Spanish official insisted that the current partnership between the two countries is "strategic" and "intense". It reflects "a new stage" based on "transparency, permanent communication and mutual respect."
"We have an intense bilateral program covering all aspects of our bilateral relationship, based on transparency, permanent communication and mutual respect. These are the principles of a sincere cooperation between two strategic partners like Spain and Morocco," he concluded.
