Spanish Human Rights Group Advocates for Ceuta’s Border Workers Amid Pandemic Struggles

A Spanish organization has lent its support to the border workers of Ceuta, initiating a manifesto to obtain more support for this human resource in difficulty since the beginning of the pandemic.
It is the Andalusian Association for Human Rights (APDHA) that has come to the rescue of the border workers, by taking this initiative to move the lines at the top of the state.
In its statement, the APDHA deplored the fact that these workers do not have work and residence permits despite their contribution to the city’s economy. Despite multiple demonstrations and steps, they are faced with total disregard from the local authorities.
Thus, all the signatures that will be collected will be sent "to all the competent authorities", such as the Ministry of the Interior, the Government Delegation in Ceuta and the Spanish Ombudsman, the APDHA said.
"Some have been working daily in Ceuta for nearly 20 years, without being recognized any rights and after the closure of the border, they have not been able to leave the autonomous city or see their loved ones for more than a year and a half," the organization denounced.
