Spanish Foreign Minister: King Mohammed VI’s Absence from Spain-Morocco Summit Not Unusual

The absence of King Mohammed VI at the High-Level Meeting between Spain and Morocco held on February 1 and 2 in Rabat is not surprising for José Manuel Albares, Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, who recalls that the monarch has "never" taken part in these meetings.
"The King of Morocco never participates in a high-level meeting," José Manuel Albares said in an interview with Antena 3 Noticias, specifying that it is a meeting between governments. On the Moroccan side, the delegation was led by the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, and the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchez, led the Spanish delegation, adds the Spanish minister.
