Spanish Father Travels to Morocco to Recover Stolen Phone with Baby Photos

John, a young man from Bilbao, traveled to Morocco to retrieve the phone stolen from his wife, containing unsaved photos and videos of their baby just a year old.
Intervening in the Mañaneros program on La 1, John explained that on January 27, his wife had her phone stolen by a man who offered to help her as she was climbing stairs with her baby in a stroller. The young man from Bilbao confided that he and his wife were distraught because the phone contained all the photos and videos of their baby, just a year old, that they had not backed up.
While they were desperate to find it, the phone was located in Benguerir, Morocco, five days after the theft. This is how John decided to go to the kingdom to retrieve the device. "I couldn’t just sit and do nothing, I had to act." He first contacted Cristina, who recently recovered her lost phone in Madrid thanks to the Moroccan police. She recommends that he approach the local police in Benguerir.
Not speaking Arabic or French, John was assisted by a Moroccan friend who wrote him a complaint that he filed with the local police. Once in Marrakech, the plainclothes police accompanied him to Benguerir where the phone was last located. The device was finally found at a young woman’s place in this village who said she had bought it.
