Spanish Far-Right Party Vox Slams Morocco’s Map Showing Ceuta and Melilla as Moroccan

The Vox party condemned on Friday the decision of the government of Pedro Sanchez to support the Moroccan autonomy plan for the Sahara, also demanding the withdrawal of a map of Morocco integrating Ceuta and Melilla from the website of the embassy in Madrid.
The representatives of the political party in Congress denounce this "unilateral and arbitrary" decision of the government taken "in total disregard of national sovereignty, parliament and the rule of law," says Ceuta Ahora.
The party also noted that Morocco continues to claim the cities of Ceuta and Melilla, noting the recent publication by the Moroccan embassy in Madrid of a map of the kingdom integrating the two enclaves on its website (EDITOR’S NOTE: the publication of the map actually dates back to March 2014). In an interpellation to the government, Vox has asked to demand that Morocco withdraw this map from the website.

The political party also asked the government whether it is aware of Morocco’s use of drones to monitor the borders with Ceuta and Melilla, and if so, whether it has planned measures to defend the two cities.
For its part, the government has merely stated that each sovereign country is free to defend its borders "with the means at its disposal." A response that did not satisfy Vox, which denounced the government’s "complacent" attitude towards Morocco.
