Spanish Far-Right Party Vox Demands End to Morocco Aid, Citing Immigration Concerns

Morocco is once again in the sights of the Spanish far-right party, Vox. This time, the formation of Santiago Abascal is asking the Spanish Government to stop all financial aid granted to Rabat.
The Spanish far-right party, Vox, is not at its first outburst of anger against Morocco. This time, it claims that these subsidies have reached 200 million euros, without however providing any evidence.
Already, last March, it had asked the Spanish Government to build "a wall between Morocco and the two Spanish enclaves in northern Morocco, Ceuta and Melilla, in order to fight against illegal immigration," reports Le Maroc diplomatique.
The president of Vox would even have gone further by suggesting that the Moroccan government contribute to the financing of this wall because, according to him, "it is Morocco that sends waves of illegal immigrants to blackmail the European Union".
Worse, Santiago Abascal also calls for tougher legislation by banning migrants from being "regularized", "having access to social or health assistance services".
The Vox leader will be followed in his anti-Moroccan sentiment by other political formations, in particular the far-left party, Podemos. Two trends that have a hard tooth against Morocco.
Indeed, according to the same source, "if Podemos plays the Moroccan Sahara card, Vox, for its part, fuels the Spanish obsession with Moroccan immigrants".
