Spanish PM Faces Scrutiny Over Undisclosed Official Flights to Morocco and Dominican Republic

The senator of the Popular Party (PP) of Murcia, Francisco Bernabé, has questioned the Spanish government about the 39 secret trips made by Pedro Sanchez to Morocco and the Dominican Republic on board the official plane of Spain.
In a question to the Minister of Defense, Margarita Roblès, the senator asked for explanations on the secret use of the Falcon, the official Spanish plane, by Pedro Sanchez for private trips to Morocco and the Dominican Republic. "Don’t you realize that the total lack of explanations only increases the suspicions about you and your dark activities?" Francisco Bernabé said to the minister.
The senator demands answers to his questions. "Who was on board these government planes? Koldo? Abalos? Begona? Maybe Sánchez? And even more worrying, what were the occupants transporting and what did they bring back to Spain on these flights?" The PP leader is particularly critical of the silence of the Spanish Executive on the five secret flights to Morocco with the official plane.
All these secret trips have cost the Spanish taxpayer more than 200,000 euros, denounced Francisco Bernabé, also criticizing the government for having spent more than 20 million euros in 2023 on fuel to travel 621,000 kilometers, or more than 15 times around the world.
In less than six years at the Moncloa, Sánchez has already made more than 500 flights with the official plane, compared to 450 for his predecessor Zapatero in eight years, 385 for Aznar in eight years, and 344 for Rajoy in seven years, informed the senator, who notes that Sanchez also uses the Falcon for personal purposes, such as his vacations, or to attend concerts or the wedding of his brother-in-law in La Rioja. "It’s a real scandal," he concluded.
