Spanish PM Echoes Trump’s Language in Support of Morocco’s Western Sahara Plan

The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchez, would have used the same words as former US President Donald Trump in his letter addressed to King Mohammed VI to support Morocco’s autonomy plan for the Sahara.
In his letter addressed to King Mohammed VI on March 14 to support Morocco’s autonomy plan for the Sahara, Pedro Sanchez would have copied, word for word, Donald Trump’s statement recognizing the Moroccanness of the Sahara on December 10, 2020. Like Trump, Sanchez stated in his letter that the autonomy plan is the "most serious, credible and realistic" solution to the conflict, reports Ok Diario.
"Today, I have signed a declaration recognizing Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara. Morocco’s serious, credible and realistic autonomy proposal is the ONLY basis for a just and lasting solution for lasting peace and prosperity!", Trump had tweeted that day.
For his part, Sanchez specified in his letter that Spain’s objective is to "build a new relationship based on transparency and permanent communication, mutual respect and respect for the agreements signed by the two parties, refraining from any unilateral action...", adding further that "Spain will always respect its commitments and its word".
