Spanish Court Sentences Moroccan Man to 7 Years for Decades of Domestic Abuse

A Moroccan national, residing in the Huelva region, was sentenced to 7 and a half years in prison and expelled from the country, for physical, psychological and sexual violence against his wife and 11-year-old daughter.
The verdict has finally been handed down, after nearly two decades of daily psychological torture and physical assaults, reported the Spanish news agency, EFE.
On January 12, 2014, the victim had filed a complaint with the police, following a violent scene in front of the neighbors, where the MRE had shown brutality towards his wife and their 11-year-old daughter.
At the end of the trial, the court ruled: a 10-year prison sentence, reduced to 7 years, was accompanied by a permanent expulsion from the country, and the prohibition of contacting or approaching the wife and child. The man also loses parental authority.
