Spanish Court Dismisses Genocide Complaint Against Polisario Leader Brahim Ghali

The judge of the National Court, Santiago Pedraz, has once again ordered the dismissal of the complaint filed against the leader of the Polisario, Brahim Ghali for genocide.
Another dismissal. Judge Santiago Pedraz has once again dismissed the complaint for genocide against the Polisario leader, as he believes the facts would be time-barred, reports the daily La Vanguardia. It is now up to the Criminal Chamber of the National Court to examine the file. The Sahrawi Association for the Defense of Human Rights (ASADEDH) had filed a complaint against the leader of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, for crimes of genocide in connection with alleged acts committed against Moroccan citizens between 1975 and 1990.
A similar decision had been handed down by the judge of the National Court on July 29 last. Reason given: "the facts are time-barred, the commission of the crime of genocide is not established, and the testimonies of the witnesses contradict the allegations contained in the complaint".
Brahim Ghali, 73, was hospitalized last April in a hospital in Logrono, near Zaragoza, under a false identity and with forged papers to evade Spanish justice.
