Spanish Civil Guard Seizes 2,000 kg of Hashish in High-Speed Maritime Pursuit

The Civil Guards of Ceuta and Algeciras carried out a joint operation this week that resulted in the seizure of 2,000 kilograms of Moroccan hashish.
Two boats of about 12 meters in length and each equipped with 3 engines of 300 horsepower, spotted several kilometers northwest of "Punta Almina", tried to escape the control of the maritime police and the command of the Civil Guard of Ceuta.
The latter then requested the help of the maritime service of the Algeciras command to stop the two boats, one of which was transporting drug bales, and the other serving as logistical support.
Feeling the police service approaching, the loaded boat began to get rid of the drugs by throwing them into the sea in order to lighten its weight and be able to accelerate.
All the goods thrown into the sea were recovered by the Ceuta command, which continued to pursue the boat without managing to intercept it and arrest its occupants.
Back at the base, the maritime service of Ceuta proceeded to count the recovered bales. In total, 58 hashish bales, estimated at around 2,000 kilograms, were seized, the command reports in a press release.
