Spanish Authorities Seize Hashish Hidden in Shampoo Bottles and Dates at Port

A man of Moroccan origin was arrested for drug trafficking, specifically hashish, during a joint operation between the Civil Guard and the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency carried out in the port of Santander, in northern Spain.
The agents detected a vehicle with a trailer that had aroused their suspicions during the boarding operations on the ferries. The customs drug detection special van, known as "Medusa", allowed them to get their hands on this vehicle.
After unloading all the goods and personal effects transported, the Civil Guard’s sniffer dog specialized in the detection of illicit substances finally found a suitcase in which hashish in balls was hidden. The drugs were hidden inside shampoo bottles and dates.
In total, the law enforcement authorities seized 32 hashish balls, weighing nearly 600 grams, which led to the arrest of the van driver who was about to board the ferry for the United Kingdom.
