Spanish Authorities Seize 600 Kilos of Hashish from Sinking Moroccan Boat off Ceuta Coast

The Civil Guard intercepted on Tuesday in Punta Almina (Ceuta) a boat registered in Morocco that was transporting 17 bales of hashish weighing 600 kilos. The two crew members, Spaniards, were arrested.
The "Fanton" type pleasure boat, coming from Morocco, was located in Spanish waters, about seven miles northwest of Punta Almina, by the Maritime Service of the Civil Guard of Ceuta, which dispatched a patrol boat to the area, reports Ceuta Actualidad.
For undetermined reasons, the boat began to sink before the arrival of the civil guards, who nevertheless managed to save the two people on board the boat, which was transporting 17 bales of hashish that could contain 600 kilos. The two occupants were identified as Spanish citizens.
The two traffickers were made available to the competent court of Ceuta. The drugs as well as the boat were also seized and placed at the disposal of the judicial authority.
