Spanish Authorities Seize 1,600 kg of Hashish in Canary Islands Drug Bust

The maritime service of the Canary Islands has seized 1,600 kilos of hashish transported in an inflatable boat by two Moroccans from the kingdom.
The zodiac was intercepted by the Las Palmas operations center, off the city of Aruquense in San Andrés, with its two crew members, coming from Morocco.
Considered as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health and drug trafficking, the two Moroccans were detained. The 55 bales of hashish found in the zodiac, estimated at 1,600 kilos, were transferred and unloaded, reports the Civil Guard in a press release.
A few days ago, the Civil Guard had already intercepted an inflatable boat carrying about thirty bales of hashish estimated at 996 kilos of hashish. The crew members, also of Moroccan origin, were arrested.
With these two interventions, the Civil Guard has managed this week to deliver two heavy blows to drug trafficking in the Canaries with the seizure, in total, of 2,596 kilos of drugs.
