Spanish Authorities Intercept 19 Moroccan Migrants Off Ceuta Coast

Early on Tuesday, September 24, around 3:15 a.m., the Guardia Civil of Ceuta intercepted 19 Moroccans who were candidates for illegal immigration. Aged 20 to 40, they would have left the town of Benzú, northwest of the Spanish enclave, aboard an inflatable boat heading for the city of Cadiz.
The Spanish authorities are working to secure their coasts against illegal immigration. 19 Moroccans were intercepted in Ceuta by the Spanish security forces.
Handed over to the Red Cross services of the city, these candidates for illegal immigration, including a woman, were transferred to the Police Headquarters for the initiation of the expulsion procedure to Morocco.
According to HuffPost, the migrants had been at sea for at least two hours before being intercepted. The site also reveals that a man of Moroccan origin, recognized as the owner of the boat, was arrested. He will be brought before the Spanish justice for human trafficking.
