Spanish Authorities Bust Major Moroccan Migrant Trafficking Ring in Ceuta

The Civil Guard of Ceuta has arrested 14 women, including Moroccans, as alleged perpetrators of trafficking of Moroccan migrants, both minors and adults, to Algeciras.
The agents have dismantled this vast network of trafficking of Moroccan migrants who pocketed between 2,000 and 5,000 euros per migrant to transport them to Algeciras, according to Europa Press. Last October, the Civil Guard had already arrested five alleged members of the same network who had provided false identity documents to migrants who had "a great physical resemblance" to Ceuta citizens to allow them to pass the checks both at the heliport and at the maritime station of the autonomous city.

The criminal organization offered its services to both foreigners wishing to join the peninsula on regular maritime lines and to migrants on pleasure boats. In total, this international network has organized about thirty transfers of migrants, the armed institute said, stressing that the false identity documents made for the benefit of these migrants have been seized.
