Spanish Army Boosts Border Patrols Near Morocco in Ceuta

Units of the tactical group of the Terrestrial Operational Command (MOT) of Ceuta are conducting presence, surveillance, and deterrence operations not far from the border with Morocco.
These operations are conducted with a "firm commitment to the security and defense of the environment," stated the defense headquarters on its official Facebook page, accompanying its publication with a series of photos showing the maneuvers carried out by these army units in different areas of the autonomous city.
These surveillance and deterrence missions aim to prevent potential threats and to react effectively to any attack. In short, they aim to secure strategic territories and ensure the protection and defense of Spanish territory, according to El Faro de Ceuta.
These actions are becoming increasingly frequent in Ceuta. In early March, the tactical group of the city’s general command had carried out a surveillance and control mission of these territories claimed by Morocco, such as Ceuta, Melilla, as well as the Chafarinas Islands and the rocks of Velez de la Gomera and Al Hoceima.
