Spain to Welcome 12,700 Moroccan Seasonal Workers for Berry Harvest

More than 12,000 Moroccan seasonal workers will work in the berry plantations in southern Spain, in Huelva, during the next agricultural season. Their arrival is scheduled for next December.
In a statement to Europa Press, the sub-delegate of the government in Huelva, Manuela Parralo, indicated that 12,700 seasonal workers will come to the province to work during the strawberry and berry campaign, almost the same contingent as last season.
She added that "the Moroccan seasonal workers will arrive through the port of Algeciras (Cádiz), since the one in Huelva does not currently receive passengers from third countries".
Furthermore, Spain also plans to launch a pilot project with Honduras and Ecuador "which consists of bringing 250 people from each of these two countries to the plantations in Huelva", she specified.
