Spain Tightens Restrictions on Food Imports from Morocco for Returning Residents

Moroccans residing abroad (MREs) who plan to return to their countries of residence after spending the summer holidays in Morocco are prohibited from transporting certain products.
Meats, milk, fruits and vegetables, plants, seeds... According to a publication by the port authorities of Algeciras following the directives of the Spanish authorities, it is forbidden for MREs to bring these various products into Europe during this period of return to their countries of residence without having a certificate attesting that they are healthy, reports the Arabic daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia. These measures are nothing more than an application of European regulations covering imported products in the Union.
MREs are however allowed to transport products whose quantities cover only personal consumption to their countries of residence via a sea crossing or a flight.
