Spain Thwarts Potential Easter Terror Plot: Moroccan Student Arrested

The Moroccan authorities have just announced the arrest of a young Moroccan of Moroccan origin studying in Seville, southern Spain, who intended to commit a suicide attack there.
Zouhair El Bouhdidi had traveled to Rabat to "say goodbye" to his family, before returning to Spain with the firm intention of carrying out an attack during Holy Week, the Spanish media report.
Aged 23 and living in Seville since 2016, Zouhair was a student at the University of Seville and had apparently been considering an attack in Spain for several months, targeting the many tourists present during Easter week.
His arrest, which occurred a few days ago, was only revealed yesterday by the Spanish authorities, who are now convinced they have averted a massacre in the capital of Andalusia.
Zouhair had, according to the police, sworn allegiance to Daesh but the investigation has not yet revealed whether he has maintained close contacts with members of this terrorist organization in Syria and Iraq. He was, according to the media, monitored for several months by the Spanish intelligence services.
