Spain Slams Morocco for ’Unacceptable’ Use of Minors in Border Crisis

Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles considers Morocco’s attitude "unacceptable" for allowing thousands of minors to illegally cross the Spanish borders.
"We demand respect from Morocco and any other country. This is a key principle of coexistence in civilized and modern societies," Margarita Robles said Saturday in an interview with RTVE on the sidelines of the celebration of Armed Forces Day, adding that the use of minors to "mock the borders of Spain" is "unacceptable" and violates international humanitarian law.
The minister took the opportunity to thank the security forces, the armed forces, NGOs and the entire population of Ceuta for the humanitarian efforts they have made during this crisis. "I believe that Spanish society is proud of its military," Robles stressed, hailing the "willingness to serve, generosity and dedication" of the army, which has played its role as a guarantor of "peace and security", the defense of territorial integrity and the protection of vulnerable people.
