Spain Seeks Guarantees from Morocco Before Repatriating Migrant Children from Ceuta

Carmen Calvo, first vice-president of the Spanish government, demands guarantees and conditions before any repatriation of Moroccan minors who arrived en masse in Ceuta two weeks ago.
"For the moment, we are taking care of and protecting the more than 1,000 minors" who arrived en masse in Ceuta, said Carmen Calvo, who added that guarantees will be required from the Moroccan authorities before the repatriation of the minors. "For now, we have to do a thorough job to find out which child belongs to which family," she said.
Calvo also welcomed the decision of King Mohammed VI who reiterated "his high instructions to the Ministries of the Interior and Foreign Affairs to definitively resolve the problem of unaccompanied minors who are in an irregular situation in Spain and other EU countries.
