Spain Repatriates 545 Citizens from Morocco Amid Ongoing COVID-19 Travel Restrictions

Spain has announced that it has recently organized a new repatriation operation for the benefit of 545 Spanish nationals and Moroccan residents on board a ferry from the port of Tanger Med to Algeciras. Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, this is the 44th time that Spain has organized this type of operation.
The Spanish embassy in Rabat indicated that this repatriation was made possible thanks to the cooperation of the Moroccan authorities. The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs took the opportunity to call on its nationals who are considering traveling abroad to take into account the current health situation.
It invites them to respect the quarantine measures and travel restrictions, and especially recommends that they take out insurance covering all travel-related risks, as they will be solely responsible for the consequences that such travel could entail. "The State will in no case be responsible for any damage that may occur to persons or property, whether due to compliance with, ignorance of, or non-compliance with the recommendations."
The ministry reminds that "the trip is always at the traveler’s expense, and the individual bears all the costs related to hospitalization, the transport of the sick or the repatriation of the remains to the country."
