Spain to Repatriate 4 ISIS Wives and 16 Children from Syrian Camps

The Spanish government has decided to repatriate the wives of four Spanish Islamic State jihadists detained in Syria with their Spanish children. One of them is of Moroccan origin.
Yolanda Martínez, Luna Fernández, Lubna Miludi and Loubna Fares are the four women who will be repatriated from Syria with their 16 children, the oldest of whom is 15 and the youngest 3. These jihadist families were captured in 2014 by Kurdish militias and are living in precarious and unsanitary conditions, according to Equinox Magazine.
The first two women are currently detained in the Al Roj camp, near Turkey. The third, Lubna, is in Al Hol, not far from Iraq, and the fourth, of Moroccan origin, is the widow of a Spaniard. She has been missing since February 2020 after fleeing the Al Hol camp with her three children aged 10, 8 and 6.
The relevant ministries, including the Ministry of Defense, are working in synergy to repatriate the three Spanish women who have requested to return to Spain with their 13 minor children by the end of the year. Once in Spain, they could appear before the courts for collaborating with a terrorist organization, a crime for which they risk up to five years in prison.
