Spain to Repatriate 3,000 Tourists Stranded in Morocco Amid Border Closure

Stranded in Morocco since Tuesday due to the closure of the Kingdom’s borders with Spain, in order to limit the spread of the coronavirus, some 3,000 Spaniards will be repatriated to their country. This is the announcement made on Wednesday by the Spanish authorities.
Without specifying how this repatriation operation will take place, the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Arancha González Laya, stated that she was working on the repatriation of some 3,000 Spanish tourists stranded in Morocco, whose current situation should serve as a lesson to all those who have travel plans.
"Currently, there is so much uncertainty at the borders and regarding the conditions of access to other countries. The best thing is still to refrain from traveling. This is the most prudent," the head of Spanish diplomacy immediately advises her fellow citizens, announcing that no Spaniard will be abandoned to his fate.
On Tuesday evening, Morocco suspended all flights with Spain and France to contain the expansion of the pandemic with the new strains of the virus. The Kingdom, it should be noted, has closed its borders with almost forty countries for the same reason.
