Spain to Reopen Borders for International Tourists in July, PM Announces

Spain is reopening its borders to foreign tourists, including Moroccans, as of July, the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, announced on Saturday.
"I announce to you that as of the month of July, the entry of foreign tourists into Spain will resume under security conditions," said Pedro Sanchez at a press conference. This will give a boost to the tourism sector, which has been in recession since the closure of borders and the implementation of confinement.
The Prime Minister also announced the resumption of major sports and professional competitions, and in particular the football Liga, from the week of June 8. Similarly, a national mourning of ten days starting on Tuesday, May 26, will be instituted. A tribute ceremony will also be organized, under the presidency of King Felipe VI, at the end of the deconfinement.
Spain is currently in a period of gradual deconfinement, with the exception of Madrid and Barcelona. But bar terraces, hotels and museums will be able to reopen from Monday, May 25 in these two cities, two weeks after the other regions.
