Spain remains Morocco’s top trading partner, according to figures just published by Eurostat.
According to these data, over the period from 2011 to 2017, trade between the two countries has doubled, with Moroccan exports increasing from 3.1 billion euros to 6.35 billion euros in 2017.
During the same period, Spain’s exports to Morocco increased from 4.13 billion euros to 8 billion euros, resulting in a deficit of more than 1.6 billion euros on the Moroccan side.
Last year’s figures remain in the green on both sides. Thus, until last November, Moroccan exports were up 5.4% compared to 2017, while Moroccan imports grew by 2.6%.
