Spain to Recruit 6,100 New Moroccan Seasonal Workers for Berry Harvest

The recruitment of new Moroccan seasonal workers for the strawberry and berry harvest in the province of Huelva, southern Spain, begins in December 2019. In total, 6,100 Moroccan seasonal workers will be hired, in addition to the 13,000 workers who have already worked in the Spanish fields.
The month of December will be marked by the selection process of Moroccan seasonal workers in the Kingdom, reports the Spanish press agency EFE. This will involve producers recruiting workers who will work for the first time on agricultural farms in Spain.
In this regard, delegations from Spanish agricultural organizations will travel to Morocco next week for the selection phase of the seasonal workers.
On this occasion, the candidates will learn more about the working conditions. Once selected, they will leave Morocco for Spain in a gradual manner. Their travel will be done in three phases.
In early November, Spain through its Ministry of Labor had expressed "its wish" to recruit nearly 16,500 Moroccan seasonal workers for the strawberry and berry harvest in the province of Huelva, in the south of the country.
