Spain Launches Maritime Operation to Repatriate 3,800 Citizens from Morocco

After a first repatriation ship that left on Monday, two other ships will repatriate this week 2,300 Spaniards or Spanish residents stranded in Morocco after the suspension of flights with Spain and France decided on March 30 by the Moroccan authorities. In total, 3,800 people will leave Morocco.
A first ship from the Trasmediterránea company, with a capacity of 750 passengers, left the port of Tanger Med for Algeciras on Monday, according to Spanish diplomatic sources. Tomorrow, April 7, a second ship from the same company, with 750 other passengers on board, will take the same route. On Thursday, April 8, a third ship from the Balearia company, with a capacity of 800 people, will in turn embark Spaniards and Spanish residents from Tanger Med to Algeciras.
After an initial repatriation flight carried out on Sunday, from Casablanca to Madrid, the airline Iberia, for its part, will again repatriate this Tuesday, April 6, 348 Spaniards and Spanish residents stranded in Morocco.
All these repatriation operations have been organized by the Spanish embassy in Morocco, in coordination with the Moroccan authorities. In total, 3,800 people will be repatriated via two flights and three ferries.
