Spain’s Far-Right Vox Party Slams Sánchez Over Morocco Policy Shift

The leader of the Vox party, Santiago Abascal, accused the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchez, of "submission" to Morocco on Wednesday in Congress, also asking whether King Mohammed VI has the power to "appoint and dismiss" ministers in Spain.
Abascal asked President Sanchez about the reasons for Spain’s change of position in favor of Morocco on the Sahara, "without any consultation" and "overnight". The Vox leader wanted to know "how much" this change has cost Spain in terms of its relations with Algeria and whether Morocco has really demanded the dismissal of Arancha González Laya, then Foreign Minister.
The far-right party leader acknowledged that Morocco is "a neighbor with whom we must get along", but denounces Sanchez’s "attitude of submission" which leads him to change foreign policy "without consulting anyone". "During trips to Morocco, we all see very exaggerated bows and solemn head nods," Abascal lamented.
The Vox leader also denounced the destruction of dams by the government "favoring Moroccan interests" while Spain was facing a severe drought. "There has never been a government in the history of Spain that has ruled so directly against the interests of the Spanish people," he said, always alluding to the change of position on the Sahara.
