Spain Eases Driving License Rules for Moroccan Truckers, Removing Exam Requirement

The Spanish government has authorized on Tuesday the removal of the obligation for Moroccan truckers to take a theoretical exam before having their Moroccan driving license recognized.
The Council of Ministers has approved the modification of the agreement between Spain and Morocco on the mutual recognition and exchange of driving licenses to incorporate this new measure in favor of Moroccan truckers, reports Europa Press.
This modification of point 4 of the agreement signed on March 8, 2004, was proposed by the Directorate General of Traffic (DGT) in February 2019, specifies the same source, which recalls that this article made it mandatory for Moroccan truckers who requested the exchange of their driving license in Spain to undergo a specific theoretical exam.
With this modification, Moroccan truckers will now be able to drive on Spanish territory without taking a theoretical exam, with the exception of Moroccan drivers who request the exchange of licenses equivalent to Spanish licenses C, C+E, D and D+E.
