Spain Deports Radical Imam to Morocco Over Security Concerns

The Spanish police expelled on Friday to Morocco an imam who was serving in the town of San Agustín, in the south of the country. He is accused of "activities contrary to public security".
At the age of 42, this imam had adopted an "increasingly radical and strict profile in the application of the precepts of the Quran". Moreover, he has gradually become a reference in extremist circles, generating rejection from moderate Muslims, explains a source of the anti-terrorism struggle to EFE.
The mosque in which he preached attracted many worshippers and the man took advantage of his position to spread a Salafist discourse "in which he despised the West and especially Spain".
Furthermore, the police accuse him of having organized meetings at his home to "indoctrinate his most extremist followers".
