Spain Deports Over 5,000 Moroccan Migrants in Three-Year Crackdown

Spain has expelled more than 5,000 illegal Moroccans from its territory in three years. In total, more than 12,912 foreign illegal nationals have been sent back by the Iberian neighbor.
Moroccans are at the top of the list of illegal nationals expelled from Spain, reports EFE, citing a police report. They are followed by Colombians, with 1,312 nationals. Then come the Romanians (684) and the Algerians.
Out of the 80,000 illegal migrant files studied, only 16% of them were validated and returned to the Spanish border. In detail, Madrid is at the top of the provinces that have recorded the highest number of deportations with 2,191 refoulements.
Then come Barcelona (668), Melilla (620), Malaga (598), Ceuta (595), Valencia (500), Murcia (491), Alicante (449), León (433) and Zaragoza (420).
