Spain Denies Claims of Seizing Medicines Bound for Morocco

The Spanish authorities on Thursday provided a formal denial of the information that Spain would have requisitioned medicines destined for Morocco.
According to the Spanish diplomatic representation in Morocco, the information that Spain would have requisitioned medicines intended for export to Morocco is unfounded. The Spanish embassy in the Kingdom of Morocco specified that this information relayed by certain media is unverified.
The embassy states in a press release that the information relates to three specific batches of medicines destined for Morocco which have all been authorized by the Spanish health authorities for export to Morocco. The press release adds that in Spain, as in many countries in the world, pharmaceutical products for export are subject to compliance control with the required standards.
This procedure has been respected and applied to the three specific batches of medicines destined for Morocco. And as the standards have been respected, all three batches of medicines have been authorized to enter Morocco, the embassy reports. In short, there has never been any question of requisitioning the medicines destined for Morocco by Spain, the embassy insisted.
