Spain Considers International Arrest Warrant for Moroccan Drug Boat Suspects

Spain is considering issuing an international arrest warrant against the four occupants of the Moroccan drug boat that collided with a Civil Guard patrol boat on February 9, killing two agents of the Guardia Civil in the town of Barbate in Cadiz.
Sources close to the investigation told El Faro de Ceuta that the Spanish authorities are studying the possibility of issuing an international arrest warrant against the occupants of this narco-boat, presumed to be of Moroccan origin. The six suspects arrested at the beginning of the investigation were ultimately released by the investigating judge in charge of the case.
In collaboration with their Moroccan counterparts, the Spanish authorities were able to identify the four occupants of the boat that caused the death of the two Civil Guards in Barbate on February 9. The main suspect would be called Karim, whose uncle, Abdellah El Merabet, better known as "Pus Pus", would be the presumed head of the criminal network. Investigators suspect that the latter is protecting his nephew who would have taken refuge in Morocco.
Nearly seven months after this tragic incident, investigators have recovered 61 elements that would belong to the anti-drug boat piloted by Karim and that would be involved in the death of the two Civil Guards. On March 17, this boat, a semi-rigid with four engines, had been located by agents of the Maritime Service of the Civil Guard of Huelva as it was navigating 20 miles south of the beach of La Antilla (Huelva).
Investigators are convinced that this is the boat that Karim was piloting on the night of February 9. Among the recovered elements, we can find fragments of the boat’s hull, propellers, toothpaste, medicines, vaseline bottles, yogurt, balaclavas, water bottles, a sweater, a shampoo bottle, gloves, sneakers, lighters, etc.
