Spain Closes Airspace to Morocco Amid EU Border Restrictions

The Spanish airspace is now closed to Morocco, according to an official bulletin from the Iberian neighbor. The Kingdom is no longer on the reduced list of third countries to which the EU opened the border in July, due to the resurgence of new coronavirus infections.
This list is now reduced to 11 countries including Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, New Zealand, Rwanda, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia, Uruguay and China, according to the order signed by the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska. This decision was made due to the lack of reciprocity.
According to the same source, this decision extends until September 16, 2020 at midnight. It could be subject to possible changes depending on the evolution of the circumstances or following new recommendations from the European Union.
