Spain’s Ceuta May Restrict Entry for Moroccan Nationals Amid Border Tensions

For a few days now, information has been circulating on social media about the closure of the Spanish enclave Ceuta to Moroccan nationals starting this Monday, January 13.
The initiative of the Spanish authorities, likely to create social tension in the region, comes in response to the decision of the Moroccan authorities to put an end to illegal trade in the autonomous city.
According to the rumors circulating recently, the ban on access to the Spanish enclave also concerns Moroccans holding visas. However, no official source has confirmed or denied the information.
Since October 9 last year, the Tarajal II border post has been closed by the Moroccan authorities, creating a very tense situation, both for the merchants of Ceuta and for the carriers of goods.
