Spain and Morocco to Test Border Crossings at Ceuta and Melilla

The Spanish and Moroccan governments have agreed to carry out a new pilot test at the commercial customs of Ceuta and Melilla, in both directions, in order to facilitate the transit of goods and people between the two countries.
This decision follows a high-level meeting held in Madrid, where significant progress has been made in the negotiations aimed at normalizing trade at the border.
The agreement, recalls EFE, follows a joint declaration signed in April 2022 during the meeting between the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, and King Mohammed VI of Morocco.
The pilot tests, which will already be the third of their kind, will make it possible to evaluate the control and transit procedures for goods between the two cities and Morocco.
