Spain and Morocco Strengthen Cooperation to Combat Transnational Crime

Cooperation between Morocco and Spain in the fight against crime has received the approval of the Spanish Senate. The two countries now have the latitude to find the appropriate strategies to overcome this problem.
The convention was adopted this week by the Senate after being approved since September 8 by the Council of Ministers. It comes to allay the concerns shared by the two countries in the face of the extent of criminal phenomena and the security challenges posed by human trafficking, terrorism, drug trafficking and new manifestations of organized transnational crime.
The agreement between the two countries is structured in a preamble and fifteen articles, and provides in great detail the crimes on which cooperation has been established. These are provisions relating to the fight against organized crime, with specific reference to terrorism, as well as cooperation in the framework of operational and investigative activities of various forms of crime.
