Spain Accused of Transporting Russian Gas to Morocco Amid Diplomatic Tensions

Since June, Spain has been transporting gas to Morocco through the Maghreb-Europe Gas Pipeline (GME). Is it Russian or Algerian gas?
Russian gas transported in reverse flow via the GME to Morocco by Spain? The question is on everyone’s lips. At the end of June, Madrid had assured that the GME was not transporting Algerian gas to Rabat after Algeria, its partner, had threatened to turn off the tap. Moreover, Algeria has been angry with Spain since the government of Pedro Sánchez decided in March to support the Moroccan autonomy plan for Western Sahara, to end nearly a year of diplomatic crisis between Madrid and Rabat.
Has Morocco supplied itself with natural gas from Qatar or the United States? According to an informed source, it would rather be Russia, reports Maghreb-Intelligence. "The relations between Rabat and Moscow have not been affected by the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and there is no reason why Moscow should not provide gas to the kingdom, via Spain and the GME," explains the same source. Morocco was one of the 12 countries that did not participate, on March 2, in the vote on the resolution demanding "that the Russian Federation immediately cease the use of force against Ukraine."
