Southern Morocco Beaches Surge in Popularity as COVID-19 Shifts Tourism Patterns

Vacationers have now opted for the south of Morocco to spend their summer holidays. This change of destination comes after the decision of the health authorities to close the cities in the north, the preferred destination following the resurgence of cases of coronavirus contamination.
The south of Morocco is being stormed by vacationers due to its rather reassuring epidemiological situation, reports Hespress. As a result, Agadir and its beautiful Aourir, Taghazout, Imi Ouadar beaches are preferred, as well as those of Aglou, Mirleft and Sidi Ifni.
To ensure compliance with preventive measures, the local authorities are keeping a close eye on things. They are therefore monitoring compliance with social distancing between citizens, the wearing of masks, particularly on the Agadir corniche, which is subject to strict control from 8 p.m. in the evening.
Checkpoints are also set up at the various entrances to the city in order to control the exceptional travel authorizations issued by the local authorities to vehicle owners and bus drivers from the affected cities.
