Southampton’s Boufal Likely to Miss Newcastle Clash Due to Toe Injury
Injured in the toe a few days ago, following a collision with the table in his kitchen, Moroccan international Soufiane Boufal will again be absent during his club Southampton’s match this Sunday against Newcastle. This is at least what his coach, Ralph Hasenhuttl, claims.
After missing his club’s midweek victory against Norwich City, the Atlas Lion’s chances of participating in the clash against Newcastle this Sunday are minimal, reports Hespress.
The Southampton manager also expresses reservations about his participation. "I have to tell you that there is still a problem with him, he is still not training. In the last game, he was on the bench and there was no reason to bring him in," the Saints boss said on the club’s official website on Friday.
However, he states that the Moroccan player trained yesterday for the first time. During this training, particular attention was paid to Sofiane Boufal, given the injury, which according to the manager can take longer to heal if we are not careful.
Back from a loan to Celta Vigo, Boufal’s performances are not yet satisfactory with Southampton. He has only four starts and was not even selected by Vahid Halilhodzic during the last gathering of the national team, the same source indicates.
