In a video titled "Avoid these scammers in Casablanca", published on his channel, a South African YouTuber recounts his misadventures in the economic capital. He was scammed after a horseback ride.
The misadventures of Kurt Caz, a South African YouTuber, begin in Casablanca, after a pleasant visit to Marrakech where he explored the popular neighborhoods of the ochre city and savored a chicken tagine at the very affordable price of 30 DH, according to H24info. He takes a first "red" taxi to the Aïn Diab beach. The journey is fractured at 50 dirhams. Once arrived at the Aïn Diab beach, he is approached by an individual who offers him a horseback ride. "How much does it cost?" retorts the YouTuber. "As you wish," replies the horse owner. Not very reassuring for the YouTuber with 2.61 million subscribers.
"What I want? I don’t like that. You never know. I want a fixed rate. When they say +give what you want+, they always ask for more in the end," he replies in English. He then decides to take another horse. A dispute breaks out between the three individuals. The South African agrees to take the horse of the second one. After a few minutes of horseback riding, the groom demands "400 dirhams + 400 DH". It is "scandalous," exclaims the YouTuber. The negotiations between the two men will be difficult. The individual finally agrees to take 90 DH.
